Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Richard has the following certifications and additional credentials:
• Certified as a Fraud Examiner by the National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), membership requires a minimum of 12 years’ experience and education in fraud-related work, (1993);
• Designated as a Certified Professional Investigator (CPI) by the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI);
• Certification in Workers’ Compensation Claims Administration (WCCA) by the Insurance Educational Association (IEA);
• Certified Fraud Specialist by the Association of Certified Fraud Specialists (ACFS);

Peter has spent over 35 years in the insurance industry. He is the President of Schifrin, Gagnon & Dickey, Inc. (SGD), a California based company that provides claims adjusting, investigation, and administration.

As a licensed independent adjuster and private investigator, Peter has extensive experience in handling a wide variety of claims, including property, casualty, and many specialty lines.

Peter is a Past President of the California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters and the Pacific Claim Executives Association. He is the Secretary-Treasurer for the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters after previously serving as a Western Region VP.

Peter was a member of the California Department of Insurance Curriculum Board and is a Past President of the Society of Registered Professional Adjusters.
Peter frequently presents educational classes to insurers and groups such as the CLM, CAIIA, and PLRB on topics including the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations, the California SIU Regulations, Good Faith Claims Handling, and First and Third-Party Coverage Analysis and Claims Investigation.
