Prashanth graduated with honours, at the top of his class, from G. B Pant University of
Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttaranchal in the year 1992. He post-graduated with
distinction in food technology, again one of top two in his class in 1994, from CFTRI in
Mysore.
His career began with a two year stint at Parrys Confectionery via campus placement in
1994, where after a short exposure to manufacturing, he managed product development for
sugar boiled confectionery – plain, centre-filled & laminated, Toffees, Caramels, Fudges,
Éclairs, Gums & Jellies, Dragees.
In 2015, he set up another firm “B. Prashanth Food & Nutrition R&D” to offers consultation
to food business operator, for their R&D needs. In these last 4 plus years he has been
providing R&D and technical support to several startup & SME brands - such as Happy
Ratio, Yogabar, Plantbytes, RCM, Shantis, On the run / Stayfit, Cocoa Diva, Yummie
Foods , Aalst Chocolates Singapore and others.
Over these last twenty five years, he has built, strategised, led and delivered food and
nutrition innovation across food product categories and is now trying to set up a versatile
food and nutrition development network and team to support start ups and SMEs make
and sell world class products locally.
