Edit
Let's talk about some examples of intentional design processes. Strategic, and tactical, and definitely including testing strategies. I'll show you some non-specific examples of what other teams have done before, but of course it won't be easy exact solutions for you to copy, just hints and funny stories. Everything I show you will sound like it's designed to hit the Robot Design Rubric, but actually, it will help you tremendously on the table. The best process for your team is some method you're excited about, as long as you are able to describe it clearly. Some of my examples will show an actual robot facing a specific challenge. Will absolutely include "testing a problem in isolation," "testing for just a basic understanding," as well as just testing your final code ten times. Lastly, a little bit of time on how to document it.
