Emerging Talent Recruiting and Programs Manager
Clifton Tay is a member of the People Staff at OpenAI, where he leads the Emerging Talent Recruiting and Programs team. Before this role, he served as the Global Lead for Early-in-Career Programs at Roche and Genentech. Clifton brings a deep passion for and expertise in the emerging talent demographic, having led teams at high-growth tech companies like Facebook, Uber, and Zillow.
As one of Facebook’s original university recruiters in 2008, Clifton spearheaded several key recruitment initiatives, including the global college Hackathons and the Hacker Cup coding competition.
Originally from the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Clifton earned his bachelor’s degree in Operations and Information Systems Management from Pennsylvania State University. He is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and a devoted “girl dad” to a spirited toddler.

Jeff Beavers has accumulated over 25 years of experience spanning campus recruiting, career services, and educational technology software systems. He has held key leadership roles at University of Illinois, Michigan State University, GE, Whirlpool Corp, AbbVie, and Yello. Currently, he serves as a member of the 12twenty partnerships team working globally with universities and employers. He also leads a 4-year USAID project in Africa, overseeing the launch of career centers at universities across Mozambique to support workforce and economic development.
