Chief Deputy Commissioner, Virginia Department of Transportation
Rob Cary, P.E., L.S, began his career with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in 1992. In January 2018, the Governor Northam appointed him VDOT’s Chief Deputy Commissioner. As the agency’s second in command, Cary supports VDOT’s Commissioner and the 7,700 men and women of VDOT alongside its public and private sector partners in the delivery of VDOT’s $6.4 billion in projects and services to the Commonwealth’s 8.5 million residents.
