Mr. Jackson founded Jackson Career and Life Coaching, LLC at the beginning of 2008 as a way to assist displaced professionals in the Atlanta market through job transition coaching. By the end of 2008, the firm had gone national with coaching clients throughout the USA as they assist displaced individuals with resume assistance, social media coaching, and the development of successful job search strategies. Mr. Jackson founded the firm on the principals of “asset based thinking” and provides free resume reviews along with 30 minutes of coaching for anyone who asks. Today that “pay it forward” tradition still exists and they have added no cost webinars to the mix of services offered. It is believed that this spirit of service has allowed the organization to grow.
Mikal hosts a Weekly talk radio talk show which addresses the current job market and helps listeners effectively win in the job search game! His firm provides monthly free webinars for job seekers and he is a popular speaker on the topic of “How To Win In The Current Job Market And Get Back To Work At Any Age”. He is currently finishing his first book titled, “Over 50 and out of work – We can’t let this be the new normal!”
Serving as a Human Resources leader in the public and private sector for over 20 years, Mr. Jackson has held corporate training leadership positions with Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Intercontinental Hotels Corporation and Sandy Corporation a training division of ADP. He has also served as the Chief People Officer for DeGeorge Financial Corporation in NYC, Miller Zell, Inc. in Atlanta and RCLCO in DC.
Growing up in South Florida and traveling extensively around the world through his work has given Mr. Jackson a well rounded life experience. After graduating Dana College with a B.A. in Psychology, he attended Garrett Theological Seminary at Northwestern University,
served on a variety of professional and community boards, and is an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
Mr. Jackson has been a certified coach since 2008 and received his training through Wainwright global and his professional certification as a life coach through Strategic Learning Alliance , His currect certification runs through 2016.
