About This Webinar

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This course will give a rough overview on if a state return is needed. It will cover who has to file, state thresholds, state websites, and resources. The course will briefly cover multi-state returns, military exceptions, state conformity, special deductions, and disaster area provisions.

This course is not eligible for IRS CE credit.

Tynisa (Ty) Gaines EA, has a B.S. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Illinois, and a M.P.A in Public Personnel Management from Troy University. Ty is an NTPI fellow and graduate of NAEAs’ Schuldiner-Smollan Leadership Academy.

In 2015, Ty received the EA of the Year award from the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents (VASEA) and is a past VASEA President. Ty is a current director for NAEA and chairs the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.

Ty has published numerous tax articles and two e-books, Tax-ish: Teens 1.0 and Tax-ish: Teens 2.0 geared at teens or anyone preparing their first tax return. She has reviewed and edited tax courses as a previous tax school director for The Income Tax School. Additionally, Ty’s teaching experience includes tax courses for VASEA chapters, Northern Virginia Community College and the Virginia Tech Income Tax School. Ty’s niche tax practice areas are military taxpayers and cryptocurrency.
