PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Like good business liability insurance, also known as Errors and Omissions (E&O) Insurance, it is important to use Engagement Letters in your practice. Engagement Letters protect both you and the client by managing expectations and clearly documenting the responsibilities for both you and the client. Treasury Circular 230, Regulations Governing Practice Before the Internal Revenue Service (31 C.F.R. Part 10), Section 10.33, Best Practices for Tax Advisors, states that a practitioner should communicate clearly with the client regarding the terms of the engagement. A signed engagement letter provides clarity.
This presentation will:
• Explain why you should be using Engagement Letters
• Point out when to use an Engagement Letter
• Provide a checklist of what to include in the Engagement Letter
• Include sample Engagement Letters available to be modified for your practice
