Join TRM's Ari Redbord, Isabella Chase, and Ziqing Ang for a walk through the quarter region by region, from Washington to Europe to Singapore and across the world. They'll get into how businesses, government agencies, and illicit actors are all adjusting to a world with more supervision, more complexity, and much more powerful tooling on every side.
The themes we're watching this quarter:
- Scaling with AI, on both sides: Compliance teams, investigators, regulators, and nat sec agencies are deploying AI to work faster and cover more ground. Criminal networks are doing the same. We'll get specific about where each side is pulling ahead and what that means for the year ahead.
- From rulebook to reality: MiCA's transitional windows are closing, APAC's stablecoin regimes are developing and the US GENIUS Act is in rulemaking with a 2027 effective date. The hard work right now is happening in the gap between a rule being written and a rule being enforced.
- Same expectations, different pace: Washington, Brussels, and the major APAC hubs are landing on very similar requirements for licensing and stablecoin oversight, on different timelines and with very different appetites for enforcement. We'll map where they line up and where they split.
- Resilience under fire: This quarter's exploits showed how much protocol-level risk still goes unmanaged, and raised the question of who is accountable when an on-chain system fails.
- The adaptation race: Illicit networks are adjusting to tighter supervision about as fast as the rules land. We'll talk through what that means for the close of the year.
