Yes Segura (He/They) is a 1st generation El Salvadoran American and openly transgender man who hails from Richmond,VA, but is based out of Seattle,WA. Yes has a Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning and B.S. in Urban Studies & Geography. Since moving to Seattle, Yes has worked on establishing the Health & Equity Subcommittee for Washington State’s Autonomous Vehicle Workgroup, helped to secure $39 million in transit funding for King County Metro via the Seattle Prop. 1 campaign, and has worked with the community & SDOT in using policy to remove police enforcement within transportation.
Most recently Yes is taking the biggest step in his life by founding Smash the Box, an Urban Planning & Design Firm that focuses on equity and health. Aside from Smash the Box, Yes serves as the Chair for Young Professionals in Transportation Seattle (YPT Seattle).
