In 2008, Solomon founded 16 Handles, New York City's first self serve frozen yogurt shop. Using his background in growing restaurant chains in the restaurant industry, his new restaurant concept would become the segment leader in NYC and grow to over 40 locations internationally. He organically built and then sold the company in 2022 without raising outside capital.

Also in 2008, he co-founded Greeno Products- a supplier of custom and off the shelf disposables (cups, lids, cutlery) for the foodservice industry.
