Prior to joining NPD in March 2007, he was an analyst with IRI, and spent over seven years examining consumer packaged goods trends, and worked with a variety of industry leaders covering dozens of food and beverage categories. He is the author of several NPD reports and provided the analysis for NPD’s recently published study, The Future of Plant-based Snapshot: The Seeds for Growth Are Planted.

Tyler joined PURIS in 2011 to launch the company into the plant protein space. Following a facility acquisition, Tyler planned and executed the team, management and investment strategy to propel the Lorenzen family’s plant protein business forward.

Previously as Vice President of Business Development, Tyler led the commercial development of PURIS Pea Protein, which launched in 2014.

As part of the company’s efforts to scale plant based nutrition and Certified Organic crops grown in the USA, Tyler led an enterprise-wide rebrand that captured his father’s vision of organic plant based nutrition powering a regenerative and sustainable food future.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Tyler majored in International Business Management and was captain and starting quarterback of the school’s football team. His football career continued in the NFL, where he won the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints.
