TALKS & DISCUSSIONS
Debbie Levitt - CXO - Delta CX
Debbie Levitt, CXO of Delta CX, has been a CX and UX strategist, designer, and trainer since the 1990s. As a “serial contractor” who lived in the Bay Area for most of this decade, Debbie has influenced interfaces at Sony, Wells Fargo, Constant Contact, Macys.com, Oracle, and a variety of Silicon Valley startups. Clients have given her the nickname, “Mary Poppins,” because she flies in, improves everything she can, sings a few songs, and flies away to her next adventure.
Design Thinking Has Jumped The Shark
Design thinking… what is it? We can’t cling to decades-old definitions of it, even if we like those better. What has it evolved to mean now? Is it a paradigm, framework, toolkit, mindset, canvas, exercises, process, approach, methodology, or something else? Is it a cottage industry and certificate factory? How is design thinking different from UCD?
Most importantly, is the evangelism of design thinking helping or hurting the UX industry and our jobs? When everybody is a certified “design thinker,” do we still need CX and UX specialists? Or can anybody do our jobs?
Join Debbie Levitt for some critical thinking about design thinking.
Helen Arvanitopoulos - Head of User Experience - Aegon
For design to really make an impact it must ultimately serve a purpose, it must also be well researched, ideated, concepted and delivered. Currently Head of UX for the Centre of Excellence for Aegon, Helen's role and passion sees her working across Europe, Asia and America with a human-centred, multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach that helps businesses and teams build and grow their capabilities and transform their organisations.
Does Design Thinking Work in a Traditional Organisation?
Design thinking has been a process we all know, use and for most of us see it as a foundation when delivering projects. However, not all organisations, people and teams are capable of grasping this concept.
Helen will take you through how working within a traditional company, she has been able to create a buzz, change a few mindsets and maybe even get it to be part of our process.
Steve Buzz Pearce - Executive Design Leader
Steve (or Buzz as many know him) is a design leader and collaborator with over 22 years of experience being the mentor, coach and teacher. Buzz recently helped Huma pivot their healthcare products to focus on COVID19 remote patient monitoring and helped deliver the rebrand. Before that he established and led the Skyscanner Design team of 70 people across 9 offices around the world.
