How did Guru Tegbahadar Sahib embody a vast and integrated way of living? How did the Guru practice wisdom and engage with society, all while responding to the world with clarity, courage, and compassion?

This webinar invites us to have a glimpse of Guru Teghbahadar Sahib as a dynamic persona. Drawing from primary and secondary sources, we will explore the breadth of his contributions, the depth of his insights, and the expansive worldview he offered—beyond dichotomies, beyond inherited narratives, and beyond the limits of traditional portrayals.

Director, Gurbani Research
Jaswant Singh is a scholar of Sikh Studies. His immense love for Gurbani propels him to read, reflect, research, and share Gurbani’s wisdom and understanding with the wider community. 

He currently serves as the Director of Gurbani Research at the Sikh Research Institute, and Content Lead of The Guru Granth Sahib Project. He worked at the Sikh Centre (Singapore) conducting various courses on Guru Granth Sahib, Sikh religion and history.

To-date, he has delivered discourses on Gurbani and Sikhi and facilitated seminars and camps globally. He has over 20 years of experience teaching Sikhi. Dr Singh is a passionate speaker and published author. He is the co-author of the Gurbani linguistics book Guru Granth Sahib – Its Language and Grammar. He co-founded AWAT (A Word A Thought) and served as its Director and Chief Editor. He holds a Master’s degree in Religious Studies and a Doctorate in the linguistics of Guru Nanak Bani.

Sukhmann Kaur graduated from the University of Washington with a MA in International Studies: South Asia and a graduate certificate in Feminist Studies. She also holds a BA in History with a Minor in Ethnic Studies from Central Washington University.

She is passionate about learning, public scholarship, and making knowledge more accessible to broader audiences. When she's not sewing, Sukhmann enjoys reading all genres of literature and listening to podcasts.

She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Gender and Women Studies and produce knowledge on, by, and for women like her.
