Join us for an exclusive in-depth training series on teaching the Adult Piano Adventures curriculum. This online workshop series will provide a highly engaging exploration of the All-in-One Course Book 1, along with a comprehensive analysis of the repertoire books.

The recording for each session will be provided to all registrants as each session ends.

Meet the Presenters

Dr. Landon Baumgard

Presenter, FPA Ambassador

Landon Baumgard is a clinician with Faber Piano Adventures. He also instructs music history and collaboration, and works as a vocal coach at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. He has taught at the Faber Piano Institute, and currently enjoys work as a teaching and recording artist for Piano Adventures. He has collaborated with many musical organizations, including LA Opera, the LA Phil, and LA Master Chorale. Baumgard earned a DMA in collaborative piano from the University of Michigan, an MM in piano performance from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a BM in piano performance and pedagogy from California State University, Northridge.

Randall Faber is the author of Piano Adventures®, recipient of the MTNA-Frances Clark Keyboard Pedagogy Award, and Roland Lifetime Achievement Award in Education. He has toured globally, appearing on international television and public radio.

Session #1 – The First Lesson with an Adult

This introductory session suggests an individualistic, relationship-centered approach to the adult student. Points of discussion will include:

• Listening to student goals, anxieties, curiosities, assumptions
• Onboarding the student to the Piano Adventures method and available supplement
• Setting some initial mutual goals
• Playing right away: Amazing grace and pentatonic black-key improvisation
• Deep dive into Unit 1
