Simple is Good: Proven CNC Milling Projects for the Entry Level Machining Student
    Monday, July 19, 2021 · 10:00 AM PDT
I will present three simple machining projects that can be used very successfully for introductory CAD/CAM/CNC machining projects at the high school and college levels. Participants will be given the prints, CAD models, and directions on how to machine custom trailer hitch inserts, drill sharpening gauges, and fly/lure boxes with their students. I will also expand on how the project can be taught to incorporate solid modeling, basic contour, pocketing, high speed tool paths, basic inspection and community service. During the workshop, teachers will do a brainstorming session on how they could implement the projects into their classes and how each can be adapted to their programs.

Autodesk: Train the Trainer Pathway for Educators New to CAM+CNC
    Monday, July 19, 2021 · 11:00 AM PDT
Within many schools CAM and or CNC machining can be new to many educators. Not only are students learning this software and techniques as they go through a program, but so are the instructors in many cases. No matter your experience, having a train-the-trainer curriculum can help with dual credit instructors, new instructors, and instructors transitioning to new skills. Not only can this be used for educators, but industry can also benefit. Learn how we develop a curriculum to help with these transitions and issues as it relates to instructors understanding and adopting CAM+CNC.

Verisurf: How to Use Verisurf Software to Inspect Parts with any CMM
    Monday, July 19, 2021 · 11:00 AM PDT
Verisurf family member Educators enjoy multiple support mechanisms, from curriculum to full live support. Join us to learn how you can reap the benefits of low-cost, high-precision metrology software with Verisurf.

The workshop begins with inspection and measurement of a common part found in High School and College programs Using our 6-axis Master3DGage PCMM Arm (the lowest cost, highest precision PCMM available today). We will demonstrate how fast and easy tolerances and dimensions can be determined using CAD Models in real-time and make final Reports to save, edit, and export.

The Verisurf Reporting engine has Boeing-certified templates and other formats to use, or you can create your own. Finishing up with Automate, see how it guides the manual PCMM operator or joystick controlled CMM to probe a part then automatically generates finished report. Discover why SpaceX, Northrop, and others find Verisurf so fast and easy, with powerful features for any inspection, analysis, build, or reverse engineering application.
Verisurf is currently the only professional measurement software with an integrated CAD foundation, as it is built on Mastercam Design. This is a plus for both Verisurf and Mastercam users, because CAD is a differentiator compared to CAM/CAI only programs. The ability to have model-based, associative CAM and measurement on a single platform maintains the digital thread, is part of Industry 4.0, and will play an important role in the future of manufacturing.

Some benefits of a single user experience include:
    • Easier to train, learn and use.
    • Simplified maintenance and support.
    • Employee cross training for improved staffing.
    • A single reseller to work with and depend on.

Educators receive a full suite of modules with each License: Measure-Analysis-Reverse-MBD-Automate-Levels & Planes. You will appreciate full 3D CAD modeling with the ability to import, create, and manipulate wireframe, surfaces, STL, and solids data.

You have access to a large selection of CAD model importers, so no matter where a model was created, you can import and modify as needed for your inspection purposes. Verisurf can read CAD files from ASCII, CADL, DWG, DXF, EPS, IGES, Inventor (IPT, IDW, IAM), KeyCreator Files (CKD), Parasolids, Rhino 3DM, SOLIDWORKS (SLDPRT, SLDASM, SLDDRW), SAT (ACIS solids), Solid Edge (PAR & PSM), SpaceClaim Files (SCDOC), STEP, STL, and VDA.
