Higher Ed - Security Best Practices - 2 Session Summit

About This Summit

Laying the Foundation for Google Workspace for Education Security Best Practices

Let’s get back to basics. Security in Google starts with some foundational settings in the Admin Console to best control what type of Apps will have access to your domain, how users login and more User and Device settings. Building off a solid security foundation helps mitigate many potentially harmful situations and empowers Workspace for Education Admins to dive deeper with Security Tools such as the paid Workspace for Education editions. Participants will investigate their own domain to see if their security foundation is solid or shaky. You will leave with security best practices and how to implement them in your own domain.

This session will cover key security areas such as:
Account and password security
Directory & Core Application security settings
3rd party application control and security management

Identify and Mitigate Threats using Advanced Security Tools
91% of attacks on districts start with Phishing. While we do all that we can to prevent attacks, what do we do if an attack occurs? Participants will explore their own domains using Enterprise level security tools to uncover potential threats to their environment. The session will start with an introduction to the basics of the Investigation Tool and Security Center followed by guided activities and prompts to explore potentially harmful situations happening right now in their own domains. From phishing attempts to inappropriate file uploads and shares, we will explore and mitigate security risks happening live in Google Workspace for Education.

This session will cover key security areas such as:
Scenarios of real life attacks
Trends in the Security Dashboard
Investigation Tool use to mitigate and remediate issues
