Gillian Tett chairs the US Editorial Board and is America editor at large at the Financial Times (FT). Previously, she was managing editor (US), columnist, and oversaw global coverage of the financial markets for the publication. Her most-recent book is The Silo Effect: Why Every Organization Needs to Disrupt Itself to Survive (2015). She is the author of the New York Times best seller, Fool’s Gold (2009), and also wrote Saving the Sun (2004), about Japan’s financial collapse in the 1990s. (Tett was Japan bureau chief for FT during their “lost decade.”) She was recognized as Columnist of the Year at the British Press Awards (2014), Business Communicator of the Year (2012) by the UK Speechwriters’ Guild, Journalist of the Year (2009) at the British Press Awards, British Business Journalist of the Year (2008), and has received the Wincott prize (2007) and the British Academy President’s Medal (2011).
