New Digital Accessibility Acts: What They Mean for Your Website

Digital Accessibility in Action for Business Growth

If your content isn’t accessible, you’re losing customers and exposing your business to legal risk. In the UK alone, people with access needs control over £274 billion in spending annually. Most of them may not be able to access your content right now.

Accessibility means giving people a choice. It ensures that anyone can access your online content, such as those with disabilities.

You need to take action now and understand the regulations. If you prioritize accessibility, you’ll open the door to new markets and improved user experiences.

2 IN-DEPTH SESSIONS
This two-part masterclass will be presented by two experts in the field.

Each session lasts 90 minutes.

Session 1 - What Do You Need to Know About Accessibility?

Cormac Chisholm will present the landscape of UX and Accessibility, looking at existing regulations such as WCAG, and new ones, like the European Accessibility Act (EEA). Cormac’s aim is to help marketers and others interested make sense of these regulations to start moving towards achievable goals you can put into action.

Session 2 - How Can You Apply Accessibility to Your Online Content?

Once you’ve understood the landscape and the needs for accessibility, Helen Dutson will take you through how to design and consider content for your websites, social media and other online communications. She’ll look at how you can ensure your text, video and imagery meet accessibility principles.
From alt tags to fonts, video captions to background colours, Helen will walk through the key elements to build into your content implementation. She’ll end the session with tips on how to convince your boss to prioritize accessibility.
