Thomas K. Billington

Thomas K. “Tom” Billington is the CEO and Founder of Billington CyberSecurity, a leading, independent cybersecurity education company founded in 2010.
He is enormously honored to serve the cyber community and thanks the great speakers, sponsors, attendees, his wonderful wife Susan and son Nelson and his strong team who make this possible.
This year, he will produce the 11th Annual Billington CyberSecurity Summit on September 8-9, 2020. This all-virtual summit will feature over 100 speakers, 30+ sponsors and exhibitors and a record number of registrants. His company has also for the last three years offered the Leadership Council, a membership serviced which convenes senior public and private partners for six times yearly Chatham House Rule breakfasts for knowledge sharing and networking. The company has built a unique trust among senior military, intelligence and civilian government and industry officials in the U.S. and among our allies. He has also produced several cyber events in Detroit, Denver, New York and at the British Parliament. His events have been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times.
His cybersecurity education company has forged unique partnerships across the world including with senior leadership at all FiveEye partners, Germany, Israel, Singapore, Japan, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
In 1999, after a successful publishing career at Reader’s Digest and Phillips Publishing, Tom pivoted to developing the first virtual and in person events at what became Bloomberg BNA including its first ever cyber summit in 1999. During the decade before launching this company, Tom produced hundreds of in-person and virtual events for what became Bloomberg BNA and then at Thomson Reuters.
Tom graduated with an MBA from Georgetown and a B.A. from Brown University. He is a member of the Metropolitan Club, the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), AFCEA and the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. Almost a DC native, he is married to Susan Thompson Billington and they have a son Nelson.
