Anderson received the National Book Award in 2006 for “The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation.” His novel “Feed” won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and “Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad” was a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor Book. His graphic novel “The Assassination of Brangwain Spurge” was a National Book Award Finalist. Anderson’s new book, “The Daughters of Ys” (First Second) with illustrations by Jo Rioux, is a mythical graphic novel fantasy.
