Master of the legal thriller John Grisham received the Library of Congress Creative Achievement Award (since renamed Library of Congress Prize for American Fiction) in 2009. Two years later, he received the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction. In addition to his legal novels, he has also written books on topics such as baseball and football, and his popular Theodore Boone books are legal thrillers for kids. Outside of writing, Grisham devotes time to charitable causes, including most recently his Rebuild the Coast Fund, which raised $8.8 million for Gulf Coast relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
