Seana McMoil serves as the senior executive director and branch manager for national cybersecurity. For more 20 years, she has been engaged in enterprise security risk services across the executive branch, working with agencies that include the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), as well as her current contract portfolio of cybersecurity services for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), worth $700 million. As one of two female directors leading large cybersecurity programs within ManTech’s $2 billion, 9,000-person enterprise, Ms. McMoil provides strategic, tactical, and technical advisory services and capabilities to nine federal agencies: the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Education, National Science Foundation, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Housing and Urban Development – Office of the Inspector General, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Small Business Administration, as well as 73 non-CFO Act agencies throughout the federal government.She plays a critical role in delivering defensive cyber for agencies that support the American public in a variety of ways, including consumer financial protection, water supply, nuclear waste, education systems, small business success, investments, as well as other areas that Americans utilize on a daily basis. She is supported by a team of 200+ highly qualified cyber professionals who bring their A-game every day in the name of protecting our nation. With women representing just 20% of the global cybersecurity workforce, Ms. McMoil’s instinctual interests in cyber early in her career placed her as a unique female voice in a heavily male-dominated industry. As a single mother of three young daughters when she got her start in cybersecurity, she was more of a trailblazer than she had even realized at the time. Ms. McMoil was recruited into KPMG’s Information Risk Management Practice (IRM) at its inception and quickly promoted into management. Studying for her Master’s in information technology (IT ) management at the University of Virginia while raising her daughters was a natural fit for Ms. McMoil’s professional ambition. She combined her accounting undergraduate degree with her Master’s to lead a team of professionals as the director of IT & financial compliance at CarrAmerica, a nationwide real estate investment trust. Tapping this ambition, coupled with the increasing national need for cybersecurity professionals, Ms. McMoil decided to put her skills to use for the greater good: protecting America’s cyber interests. She joined Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG) in 2008 and quickly excelled to the level of director for information assurance services, managing large cyber programs for the Transportation Security Administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, DHS Headquarters, FBI, and HHS. Following KCG’s acquisition by ManTech in 2015, true to her nature, Ms. McMoil quickly rose through the ranks, spearheading inaugural cybersecurity programs introduced by the federal government for ManTech. She also remains a trusted adviser to numerous chief information security officers across the federal space. Ms. McMoil earned her Master of Science in IT management from the University of Virginia, and her Bachelor of Science in accounting from George Mason University. She also holds the following credentials: CISSP, SAFe, PMP, CISA, CRISC, ITIL Foundation v3, ITIL v3 Intermediate: Service Strategy, and ITIL v3 Intermediate: Operational Support and Analysis. She maintains expertise in: Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, System Integration, Security Engineering, and Security Test & Evaluation.
