About This Speaker Series

The McGill International Portfolio Challenge brings together both top students from around the world and leading institutional asset managers to help define what the future of Finance looks like. As part of the challenge, we invite senior executives from some of our distinguished sponsors to share some of the knowledge and insights with the younger generations. From a panel discussion on how to address Diversity & Inclusion in the industry, to investing amid changing political landscapes, to investing in the context of a major national shift like Brexit, to trends in pension and sovereign funds, we are hosting nearly a full week of events on such topics.

    Mohamed Mokhtari
    Global Head, Investment & Risk Management, Public Pension and Sovereign Funds, KPMG
    Mohamed Mokhtari is the national leader of the Financial Risk Management Advisory practice of KPMG in Canada. Mohamed is also KPMG’s global leader for investment & risk management service offerings within the context of large public pension funds and sovereign funds worldwide. He has seventeen years of experience in the promulgation of sound investment management and investment risk management practices to pension funds. Over the last 17 years, Mohamed Mokhtari has worked extensively with large pension funds providing advisory services in the areas of investment management and investment risk management at the aggregate portfolio level and across asset classes and supporting functions.

    Jasbir Nizar
    Head of Business Development, Lombard Odier Investment Managers
    Jasbir Nizar joined Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) in 2013 as Head of Human Resources. In 2020, Jasbir was appointed as Head of Business Development with responsibility for Sales, Marketing and Product Development.

    Prior to joining LOIM, Jasbir spent nine years at Citi where she held positions as Head of HR for Corporate and Investment Banking & Head of Employee Relations. She has also worked for RBS in Business Strategy and Planning.

    Jasbir holds an LLB (hons) in Law, a post-graduate in Business Law, has undertaken the Legal Practice course as well as undertaking the Certificate in International Cash Management from the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
