Ann Patchett’s acclaimed novels include “The Patron Saint of Liars,” “Bel Canto” and “Commonwealth.” Her most recent children’s book is “Escape Goat” (Harper). Her recent novel is “The Dutch House” (Harper), which was named one of the best books of 2019 by NPR, The Washington Post, O: The Oprah Magazine and Vogue. Her books have been translated into more than 30 languages. In 2011, Patchett opened Parnassus Books in Nashville, where she lives. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, such as the PEN/Faulkner Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, The Chicago Tribune’s Heartland Prize and the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.
