Basheer Nasir Ahmed
Head of Business Development - Cybersecurity, Nokia
Basheer leads Cybersecurity Solution sales at Nokia Networks. In his role, he is responsible for cybersecurity solutions sales with North American Tier 1 & 2 operators, business development and partner management with leading security vendors. He also works closely with US Government agencies in educating about the security threats on 4G/5G networks and best practices to improve the security posture of the networks.
He has worked with Carriers, Vendors and Government and Standardization bodies across three continents.
Basheer joined Nokia in 2008 as Engagement Manager. In his more than 23 years of international experience, he has a deep expertise in many areas of technology, particularly securing telecommunications networks and devices, the internet of things and cloud. His contributions include Systems Engineering, Sales Management, Consulting, Project leadership in various security projects and has lived in Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America.
Before Nokia Networks, Basheer began his career with AT&T/Lucent
Technologies/Alcatel-Lucent in 1995 for 14 years.
Basheer also serves as a board member of a non-profit organizations and volunteers security awareness sessions to help and give back to the community.
Basheer is passionate in sharing his knowledge of Mobile Network Security with value based arguments with the Mobile and Cable operators to enable them to make informed decision when it comes to network security.
Basheer has co-authored white paper on "Secure LTE: A Revenue Opportunity for Operators; has been published by Heavy Reading; he has been a speaker and panelist at various security conferences and events.
Basheer has a degree In Electronics and Communications Engineering and Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA and PMP. Basheer is based in New Jersey, USA.
