Cailyn Spurrell, PhD
Project Manager, University of Washington
Dr. Cailyn Spurrell is a scientist working on the single cell platform in the Brotman Baty Institute at the University of Washington. Her work focuses on translating innovative genomics technologies into production-scale laboratory operations. Prior to obtaining a PhD, Cailyn worked at the Joint Genome Institute, building high-throughput, production-level genome sequencing technologies. Cailyn received a PhD in Genome Sciences from the University of Washington in 2013. IN 2014 she joined the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Len Pennacchio. There Cailyn used functional genomics to study the regulatory landscape of human heart failure as well as human and mouse embryonic development. Cailyn’s scientific interests include applying single cell and multi-omics technices in human health and disease.
