Hey there! I know these biographies are usually written in third person, but I felt a bit too silly to do that, so informality is the theme of the day!
My name is Charlie Turner. I am an Irish/American student, activist, and literary enthusiast. I am in my final year at Aberdeen Grammar School in Aberdeen, Scotland, and I have lived here for almost three years now!
Before I moved to Scotland, in the D.C. area, I was a member of the varsity swim team, a founding member of my school’s debate club, and a supporting role in my local community.
Here in Aberdeen, I work closely with Aberdeen City Council in my role as Youth Climate Change President where I work as a representative for young people in this city who wish to see more ambitious climate change goals! In doing this, I give speeches to local students, attend climate change events, and even work with councilors from time to time!
As for skills, I’d say I’m a fairly confident public speaker, I have a team centered attitude yet a leadership centered approach, and I work in a self assured, confident manner!
