Courtney Osborne
Vice President of Insurance & Risk Management, El Ad Group
With over 15 years of experience working in the Real Estate, Construction and Financial Services industries and specializing in Risk Management, Courtney Osborne is the Vice President of Insurance and Risk Management for the El Ad Group, an international real estate investment, asset management and development firm. At the El Ad Group Courtney provides leadership, direction and creative solutions to Enterprise-wide Risk Management challenges arising from the operations of their multi-billion dollar revenue producing real estate portfolio, comprised mostly of light industrial and habitational assets, and portfolio of development projects.
Prior to joining El Ad, Courtney served as the Head of Risk Management for Starwood Capital Group, a private equity firm focused on real estate and hospitality, and oversaw billions of dollars of real estate acquisitions all over the world in addition to a global real estate and hospitality portfolio. Previously, Courtney was an Account Executive in the real estate practice at Arthur J. Gallagher, an internationally recognized insurance brokerage firm, in Boston and also held a National New Business Development role at Crawford & Company in New York City working with real estate firms to streamline their operations through the claims management process.
In addition, Courtney is an active member of many professional organizations throughout New York City. She serves as membership chair for RIMS New York, is a board member of the New York City Association of Insurance Women (NYCAIW) and served as President of NYCAIW and also as co-President of the NY Metro Chapter of Women in Insurance & Financial Services (WIFS).
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dickinson College, has earned a Master of Science in Risk Management (MSRM) from New York University’s Stern School of Business and will be attaining the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) professional designation, a highly regarded insurance industry designation, in the fall of 2019.
And finally, Courtney has been recognized as a 2019 Women to Watch by Business Insurance (BI) which honors women is the insurance and risk management industries for their professional achievements, demonstrated leadership qualities and dedication to the advancement of women. Earlier this year she was also recognized by Insurance Business America (IBA) as an Elite Woman for achieving a leadership role and breaking through to the upper echelon of the traditionally male dominated insurance industry.
