Walter Isaacson
Author
Author and journalist Walter Isaacson is a professor of history at Tulane University. He is also a host of the show “Amanpour and Company” on PBS and CNN. Isaacson is on the board of many institutions and organizations, ranging from the New Orleans City Planning Commission to the Society of American Historians to the Carnegie Institution for Science. Isaacson was previously the CEO of the Aspen Institute, where he is now a distinguished fellow, and he has served as the chairman of CNN and the editor of Time magazine. Isaacson’s most recent biography, “Leonardo da Vinci” (Simon & Schuster), is based on notebooks and new discoveries about his life and work and shows how Leonardo’s genius was based on skills we can improve in ourselves, such as passionate curiosity, careful observation and a playful imagination. He is the author of several other books, including “The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution,” “Steve Jobs” and “Einstein: His Life and Universe.”
