Jon Meacham

Jon Meacham is a renowned presidential historian, contributing writer to The New York Times Book Review, contributing editor at Time and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. His many award-winning books include “American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House,” “Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power” and “American Gospel: God, The Founding Fathers and the Making of a Nation.” Meacham is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and of the Society of American Historians, as well as a distinguished visiting professor at Vanderbilt University. He is a trustee for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, the McCallie School and the Harpeth Hall School. He formerly served as executive editor at Random House and Newsweek and was an editor for The Washington Monthly and Chattanooga Times. He has served on the vestries of St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue and of Trinity Church Wall Street. His latest book is “His Truth Is Marching On: John Lewis and the Power of Hope” (Random House).
