Dr. Sanjay Gupta is the chief medical correspondent for CNN. Gupta is the host of Vital Signs for CNN, as well as the host of CNN Original Series Chasing Life with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Gupta joined CNN in the summer of 2001. Since 2001, Gupta has covered the most important health stories in the United States and around the world. In addition to his work for CNN, Gupta is a member of the staff and faculty at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital and regularly performs surgery at Emory University and Grady hospitals. Gupta contributes to the CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes and serves as an executive producer for the HBO Documentary Unit. He is the author of three New York Times best-selling books: Chasing Life (2007), Cheating Death (2009), and Monday Mornings (2012).
