Bestselling novelist Sabaa Tahir spent her childhood reading and listening to the radio in the Mojave Desert and dreaming of growing up as a pirate or bear. Her parents wanted her to become a doctor, but a brief stint working in a hospital changed her mind. Tahir has written “An Ember in the Ashes,” and its two sequels, “A Torch Against the Night” and “A Reaper at the Gates.” The final novel in the Ember series, “A Sky Beyond the Storm,” is slated to be published in December of this year. Her recent book, “A Thief Among the Trees” (Archaia), is an Ember series graphic novel.
