This Webinar tells the story of the world’s largest battery now under construction in the Utah desert. The Advanced Clean Energy Storage (ACES) Delta project, A hydrogen production and storage facility project currently being constructed, is a 1,000 acre first-in-kind hydrogen hub in Utah. The project is in partnership with the Department of Energy and the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power. With 220 megawatts of hydrogen electrolysis production using variable renewable power and 300 gigawatt-hours of salt cavern storage capacity for conversion back to firm power at IPP Renewed. This webinar will introduce you to the groundbreaking facility and the technology involved in its development.

Ray Arguello is a retired Navy Surface Warfare Officer. He served as the Commanding Officer of the USS Benjamin Stoddert DDG-22. He worked for POWER Engineers for 20 years building their government business. He has served in positions as a project manager and business development coordinator and program manager for POWER's Asia Pacific Operations. After his retirement from POWER Engineers he joined Scout as a Board Member to assist in their business development and marketing. He has been a member of SAME for over 15 years.

Project Director, Chevron New Energies
Jim Greer is the Project Director for Chevron, responsible for leading the team and delivery of the pioneering ACES I project. He oversees all aspects of the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up of the project. Jim possesses over three decades of experience in positions of increasing management responsibilities leading first-in-kind industrial construction projects to success. Industries he has worked in include lithium-ion energy storage, chemicals/ammonia/fertilizer, carbon capture and utilization, utility scale solar power generation, oil sands, microelectronics/semiconductors, and mineral/mining processing as both EPC and Owner. Jim is a military veteran and attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Air Force with deployments including Cairo West Air Force Base, Egypt. He was a founding member of the Mountain Home SAME chapter. He has served on multiple boards including a community economic development and biofuels organization. He has nearly twenty years experience as an entrepreneur and started/operated businesses in a variety of industries with award winning recognition. This includes one in the less lethal ammunition where as CEO he stood on the firing line and took the first human shot after extensive product testing and declared it ready for the market. Jim possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah. He also has completed certificate programs in Energy Innovation & Technology from Stanford University and Model Based Systems Engineering from MIT.
