James grew up in construction and worked as a craftsman for 10 years in 5 states, before going to Washington State University for Construction Management. After graduating WSU, he worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for a year, then moved to Guam to support the U.S. Marine Corp. build up. After spending 10 years in Guam working on DoD projects, James moved to Phoenix to start working for the Mission Critical Division of The Weitz Company. Since 2020, he has worked on Hyperscale Datacenters in Arizona, Virginia and, now Mexico. James has been heavily involved with SAME for 8 years, in leadership and volunteer roles in Guam and Phoenix. He represented Guam young professionals at the 2019 Post Leaders Workshop. In 2020 James received an Engineering News Record Award for the Pacific Northwest, Top 40 under 40, and, he recently graduated from the SAME Leader Development Program in 2023.
