Deputy District Engineer
Ted H. Streckfuss is the Omaha District Deputy District Engineer, and the Chief of Planning, Programs and Project Management Division for the Omaha District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mr. Streckfuss is directly responsible for the execution of all program and project management within the District. Responsibilities include support to 26 Army and Air Force installations in an eight-state area, water resources development in nine states of the Upper Missouri River Basin, and Hazardous, Toxic and Radioactive Waste cleanup work for the Department of Defense and other clients that cover 41 States and 147 installations. The Omaha District is the most expansive CONUS district within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with its boundaries covering more than 700,000 square miles.
Mr. Streckfuss was born and raised in the Webster/Aberdeen areas of northeast South Dakota. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University in 1984; and a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1991. He holds professional engineering registration as both a civil engineer (1989) and as an environmental engineer (1993), and is registered as a Project Management Professional (2009).
He has been with the Corps in Omaha for more than 27 years. He has served as an environmental process engineer, as a project engineer, a project manager, as the district innovative technology coordinator; as a regulatory specialist in the HTRW Center of Expertise; as the design workload manager, contracting officer representative, A-E liability coordinator, as district quality manager and deputy chief of Engineering Division over the course of his career.
Prior to his service with the Corps, Mr. Streckfuss worked in the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources for three years.
Mr. Streckfuss is married and has three sons.
