SAME Health Engineering Task Force Webinar: Geospatial Intelligence Strengthening Preparedness and Response to Natural/Man-made Disasters

About This Webinar

In this webinar, members of the Geospatial Working Group and the Health Engineering Task Force will discuss how geospatial information and analysis is vital to planning for and responding to disasters. Data describing the situation’s location and parameters enables responders to know what they are going into and what they may potentially need before they arrive on scene. Mitigation and recovery efforts also benefit from accurate geospatial data. The types of information used, how it is collected and analyzed, and how it is used operationally will be discussed during the webinar.

• LO 1- Inform SAME participants of the value of location intelligence offered by Geospatial Engineers to the Health community and their mission partners to activities supporting Life, Health, and Safety during response to a natural disaster.

• LO 2- Expand SAME participant awareness of resources required to prepare geospatial information in preparation of response to natural disasters.

• LO 3- Improve SAME participants understanding of the need for advanced and extensive teamwork/ collaboration with supported mission partners, like Bioenvironmental Engineers, to develop of Information Requirements enabling geospatial engineers' information preparation of the operating environment.

• LO 4- Educate SAME participants on available National Response Framework (NRF) geospatial policies and strategies supporting geospatial community support preparing, responding, and recovering from natural disasters.
