PCRS Webinar - AIR and MART therapy in the context of the new asthma guideline

About This Webinar

This is the second webinar in the PCRS Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) in asthma campaign. It will provide information on anti-inflammatory reliever (AIR) and MART treatment options in the context of the BTS/NICE/SIGN asthma guideline 2024 and associated implementation guidance.

The webinar will be held on Friday 9 May 2025 at 19:00 for 45 minutes. Chaired by Katherine Hickman (our PCRS Executive Chair), she and guest speakers, Deborah Leese and Marieke Strange, will focus on:

- What AIR and MART are
- The role they play in the new BTS/NICE/SIGN asthma guidance, and
- The effective implementation of AIR and MART treatment regimes.

Particular attention will be paid to the implementation of these regimes in patients who are newly diagnosed, new to these regimes and/or have uncontrolled asthma.

We are grateful to Orion Pharma (UK) Ltd for sponsoring PCRS in developing resources for the Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (MART) in asthma project. The sponsor has had no input into the resources or webinar content.

After 5 years working in intensive care, Marieke switched to primary care and never looked back. Marieke is passionate about respiratory and is involved with local guidelines and processes. They are a Respiratory Champion, part of the PCRS Conference Committee and are most proud of (re) launching BRIG (BNSSG Respiratory Interest Group). The group meets monthly and discusses anything respiratory related; case scenarios, difficult cases, a general moan about things, what ever you like! This is all with the aim to offer more support to Practice nurses with a respiratory interest as it is often a puzzle to get things right, least of all diagnostics!
