Dr Lumb is a Consultant in Diabetes/Acute and General Medicine in Oxford and Vice-chair of the DTN. He co-leads the Insulin pump and technology service in Oxford. His other clinical interests include islet/pancreas transplantation, inpatient diabetes (he is the clinical lead for the NaDIA Harms audit), cystic fibrosis related diabetes and the management of type 1 diabetes for sport and exercise.

Consultant Diabetologist at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
Dr Sainsbury trained in Diabetes & Endocrinology in Glasgow, and is a consultant Diabetologist at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Since 2018 he has been an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Applied Health Research, University of Birmingham, and is a CSO Innovation Fellow and Clinical AI Lead for MyWay Digital Health.
His current research focuses on the application of machine learning methods to clinical datasets to predict significant clinical outcomes, identify optimal therapeutic choices, extract causal information from datasets and generate synthetic data. Current and recent funding has been from Innovate UK, NIHR, MRC and EPSRC.

Clinical Reader at University of Edinburgh and Diabetes Consultant
Dr Debbie Wake is a Clinical Reader at University of Edinburgh and Diabetes Consultant, (MBChB, BSc, PhD, Clin Ed Dip), a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, a 2017/18 NHS Innovation Accelerator Fellow and one of nine 2019 IUK Women in Innovation Award winners. She leads national programmes on diabetes artificial intelligence/ automated decision support and international diabetes education programmes. Previously, she was a health columnist for a national UK newspaper and TV doctor/ presenter for STVs ‘The Hour’ programme. She is also CEO and co-founder of MyWay Digital Health (www.mwdh.co.uk) (MWDH) (University of Dundee spin out company). Debbie’s vision is to improve the lives of people with diabetes globally through affordable data-driven solutions. She has developed multi-award winning software applications; including a data driven patient application deployed across 30% of the UK (called MyWayDiabetes) that has improved health outcomes and delivered significant health saving(5:1 ROI).
