PCRS Webinar - Greener Respiratory Healthcare: Exploring the impact of air quality and respiratory health

About This Webinar

The environment and air quality have a considerable impact on people with respiratory conditions and the symptoms they experience. In turn, respiratory conditions, and the medication which treats them, adds considerably to the NHS carbon footprint. Part of the PCRS Greener Respiratory Healthcare Campaign, this webinar aims to support understanding of this relationship and provide primary care healthcare professionals with the information and practical action they need to improve it.

The webinar will be held on Wednesday 15th January 2025 at 19:00 for 30 minutes. Chaired by Katherine Hickman (our PCRS Executive Chair), she, Sally Jones (Environment Manager from Bradford District Council) and Ian Sinha (Consultation Respiratory Paediatrician at Alder Hey Hospital) will discuss the impact and relationship of the environment, air quality and respiratory conditions. The aim of this webinar is to:

- support understanding of the environment and air quality and their relationship with respiratory symptoms and care,
- highlight the benefits of working to address and improve this, and
- provide healthcare professionals with practical action they can take to improve respiratory care and outcomes for their patients, as well as provide greener respiratory healthcare at the same time.

This event is part of the PCRS Greener Respiratory Healthcare campaign.

We are grateful to Chiesi Ltd for the provision of a grant to support the activities of the PCRS Greener Respiratory Healthcare campaign. The campaign has been solely organised by PCRS, and Chiesi has had no input into the content.
