I am a Clinical Lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the University of Cambridge, UK and my research focuses on the use of diabetes technologies to improve outcomes for people with diabetes.
I investigate the impact of hybrid closed-loop systems for children and adults with type 1 diabetes. We are currently undertaking randomised clinical trials evaluating ultra-rapid acting insulins in closed-loop systems in people with type 1 diabetes. To broaden access to technology and improve outcomes, I develop educational tools for healthcare professionals and people with diabetes to get the most out of diabetes technologies and ultimately to support adoption and reimbursement.
I am also interested in using diabetes technologies, in particular closed-loop systems, to improve the safety of people with diabetes in the acute hospital setting. Our research group have undertaken randomised clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a fully closed-loop approach for inpatients and outpatients with type 2 diabetes.
