Recently the language used during clinical consultations between health care professionals and people with diabetes has become an important focus of attention. We know that using negative or judgemental language can have a serious impact on the experiences of clinical care and the aftermath, when individuals and their families return to their daily lives.
This talk by Professor Cathy Lloyd from The Open University will discuss the effects of negative language and recommend ways to change both verbal and non-verbal language in order to improve clinical outcomes and diabetes self-management.
During the presentation you will be able to post questions for our Q&A session after the talk.
This event is approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for category 1 external CPD credit for 1 hour and a CPD certificate can be obtained after the event by completing a short evaluation
