The moments worth sharing from a webinar happen live — an answer that lands, a slide that explains everything, a story the audience asks about afterwards. Usually that means waiting for the full recording and cutting each moment out by hand. Live clips captures them as you go: record a take from the room, or let Auto-clip split a running take into a new clip every time you advance a slide, share your screen or start a video.
In Recording Studio’s live room, the Record panel sits beside your stage. Press Start Recording, present as you normally would, then press Stop Recording. The take plays back right in the panel, so you can check it before you keep it.
The Record panel. Every saved clip lists who was presenting, and Combine in editor takes the whole set to the timeline.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Restart | While you are recording, starts the take over |
| Save Clip | Keeps the take and adds it to Recorded clips |
| Re-record | Records it again — also on a saved clip, which is replaced in place |
| Delete | Discards the take |
Switch on Auto-clip, press Start Recording once, and the panel does the cutting. Each time a trigger fires, the clip you are in ends and the next one begins, without anyone touching the panel. Auto-clip only splits a take you started; it never begins recording on its own.
Choose the triggers under Clip Settings → Create a new clip when…. Each one switches on or off by itself:
| Trigger | A new clip starts when |
|---|---|
| Advancing a slide | you move to another slide |
| Starting screen sharing | a screen share begins |
| Starting a video | a video starts playing on stage |
| Expanding a presenter’s video | a presenter’s camera is expanded on stage |
Minimum clip length — 10, 20 or 30 seconds — keeps fast clicking from leaving slivers behind. A trigger only starts a new clip once the current one has run that long; anything sooner is ignored and the clip simply carries on.
The same Clip Settings tab has a High-fidelity microphone switch, which records your mic without call processing for a cleaner voice. It works best with headphones.
Each clip uploads in the background while the session carries on, and lands in Recorded clips with the presenter who was on stage. Combine in editor opens the Recording Studio editor with all of them on one timeline, where you can trim, add a title card and lower thirds, put your logo on every frame, export, and replace the published recording.
When the webinar ends, the panel switches to editing only: you can still trim, combine, rename and delete clips, but no new takes start.
Live clips and Auto-clip are part of Recording Studio’s live capture, which BigMarker turns on for each channel — ask your Account Manager to enable it for yours. Once it is on, channel admins and presenters who can manage the session can record. Editing recordings in Recording Studio is included with Enterprise and virtual-event licenses.
