John Villali
Research Director, IDC Energy Insights
Villali's skillset stems from a deep history in the North American power and natural gas markets. That experience has given him the ability to expertly evaluate and communicate the intricate challenges that face the energy industry today. Villali most recently worked as a Principal Consultant, with a concentration on wholesale and retail power markets at DNV-GL. Before his time at DNV-GL, he was Head of Americas Power at Thomson Reuters, supporting their Commodities and Energy divisions. Villali has additionally held senior roles at other prominent businesses such as: Cambridge Energy Research Associates, RWE Trading Americas, Genscape, and the Science Applications International Corporation.

Some of Villali's industry accomplishments include a vast practice in integrated electric resource planning, statistical analysis of electric utilities generation output, and the impact of demand-side management (DSM) programs on electric power markets. Most recently, in 2015, Villali and his team at Thomson Reuters were awarded Energy Risk’s Innovation of the Year for creating and launching a Brazilian wholesale power market trading tool. Villali's educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a minor in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Linda Rae
General Manager, Power Generation and Oil & Gas at GE Digital
Linda Rae is the General Manager for the Power Generation and Oil and Gas businesses for GE Digital. In this role, Linda is responsible for driving profitable growth for the GED solution set into power generator plants, oil and gas refineries, chemical plants, and other heavy industrial verticals.

Prior to joining GE Digital, Linda served as the President of Qualitrol Corporation, a Fortive operating company and global supplier of condition-based monitoring equipment and systems to the electric utility industry.

Linda’s career started at Cleveland-based Keithley lnstruments in 1995 as a product marketer for the company’s portfolio of electrical test and measurement equipment. She held various marketing positions overtime, including Component Test Business Manager and Business Manager of the Optoelectronics Test Group. In 2014, Linda became the Worldwide Commercial President forTektronix, responsible for leading the global sales and support teams for the business.

Linda is a member of the Corporate Visiting Committee for Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and the Visiting Committee for the Weatherhead School of Management at Case. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Science Center and the Dean’sAdvisory Board for the College of Engineering at the University of Florida. Linda is an inductee in the University of Florida’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Academy and the recipient of the 2012 Distinguished Alumnae award from the Weatherhead School of Management at CWRU.

Linda holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an MS in Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees from CWRU.

Aaron Larson
Executive Editor, POWER magazine
Aaron Larson joined the POWER team in September 2013 as an associate editor and was named executive editor in 2017. Aaron has a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering technology and a master’s degree, specializing in finance. He spent 13 years in the U.S. Navy nuclear power program, advancing to Chief Petty Officer. He has worked at commercial nuclear, biomass, and coal-fired power plants, functioning in operations, maintenance, safety, financial, and management capacities. Aaron holds a Chief A Engineer boiler operator license in the state of Minnesota.
