Thinking it through: Developing and boosting problem-solving skills for exam-focused students
by Jeremy Bowell, author of First Success

Being able to solve problems is one of the most important skills for learners to master in today’s English language classroom, and even more so for students preparing for school-leaving and Cambridge exams. Solving problems requires students to be creative and to think critically. It often requires collaboration, and the better students get at it, the more resilient learners they become.
In this talk, Jeremy will look at what we can do to encourage more problem solving in the classroom, how we can use the course book to help foster a more creative and critical learning environment, as well as some general principles for developing these skills. We’ll see how problem solving can help students in exams with some practical ideas and activities for the classroom.

    Session 2: 5:30-6:00 p.m. (UTC +1:00)
