Before joining Muck Rack, Mike led marketing for fast-growing startups like real estate technology platform Nestio and social customer care pioneer Conversocial, and was an early member of the team at the open source NoSQL database MongoDB. He previously founded and scaled a private digital media consulting firm whose clients ranged from real estate agents and rockstars to production studios and emerging YouTube influencers. He’s a frequent guest speaker and lecturer on marketing and startup growth strategy at places like NYU, New School and the University of Washington, among others. Bio: Andrew Mercier is the Editorial Director of Muck Rack, the software platform that enables thousands of organizations including Google, Golin and Duolingo to find the right journalists to pitch, report on media coverage and prove the value of their work. He is responsible for the growth, maintenance, and engagement of Muck Rack’s constantly-growing journalism community. Before joining Muck Rack in 2015, he was Senior Client Support Manager at Gorkana, where he spent over five years building a widely respected research and support team. Over the course of his career, Andrew has developed a deep interest in the journalism industry and strives to learn as much as he can in order to help foster the next generation of journalists.
