Hybrid Bronchoscopy Solution: Single-Use and Reusable Bronchoscopes - The Right Scope, for the Right Patient, in the Right Situation

About This Webinar

Dr. George Cheng will talk about the results from his study which compared reusable to single-use bronchoscopes and how adopting a hybridized bronchoscopy portfolio may support optimal patient outcomes.

With increased demand for single-use bronchoscopes has come concern from physicians about performance. Recent survey-based research on bronchoscope performance conducted with nine pulmonologists shows that the Olympus reusable bronchoscope scores highest at 90.8 percent, followed by the H-SteriScope at 83 percent. 1 These findings are consistent with results from similar research published in Respiratory Care in fall 2020. 2

A hybrid portfolio of both single-use and re-usable bronchoscopes is designed to increase the likelihood that pulmonologists have the right bronchoscope on-hand when and where needed, for both basic and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures.

Based on a small, single center study comprised of 9 physicians; conducted on ex-vivo subjects, not in a clinical setting or during patient care.
