ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
The Ontario government recently announced that it is committed to helping Ontario students succeed at math. In August 2018, the ministry released a teacher’s guide highlighting some of the key math concepts and skills in the current curriculum. This webinar series will focus on the five fundamental math skills as identified in the teacher’s guide and help educators to implement strategies in the classroom to increase foundational math skills.
Webinar 5 - Developing Proficiency with Operations
Developing proficiency with operations means performing calculations with ease, precision, and consistency and with a general understanding of number and operations, number properties, and their appropriate application in problem solving. Eventually, students master and use the standard algorithms, but what happens along the way?
