The Ontario government recently announced that it is committed to helping Ontario students succeed at math. In August 2018, the ministry released a teacher’s guide highlighting some of the key math concepts and skills in the current curriculum. This webinar series will focus on the five fundamental math skills as identified in the teacher’s guide and help educators to implement strategies in the classroom to increase foundational math skills.
Webinar 4 - Developing Mental Math Skills
Developing mental math skills means doing calculations in the mind, with little or no use of paper and pencil or calculator. Classroom strategies such as number talks are very helpful to students and will be explored in this webinar.
