The postdoctoral period is a critical juncture in the professional and personal journey of scientist. Depending on the experiences encountered, it can be a time of immense growth and opportunity or a time of frustration and doubt. The postdoc lays the foundation for future career opportunities and growth. This interactive workshop will leverage the entrepreneurial mindset to provide a framework that aligns passion and purpose. This framework can be used by individual postdocs, postdoc advisors, and postdoc offices. The framework is rooted in a thoughtful, mindful, and purposeful (TMP) lifecycle approach to facilitate the creation of a strong foundation for the postdoc that aligns with passion and purpose with knowledge and skills. Through this process, the postdoc will be able to identify gaps in their approach and thoughts and subsequently take action to address the gaps. This is especially relevant for BIPOC and International postdocs who may experience unique challenges and different gaps in opportunities. By the end of the session, attendees will have an action plan to guide them to their next career opportunities or to helping postdocs find the career opportunity that best aligns with their passion and purpose. Attendees also will learn about diverse fields and career paths where their scientific mindset and skillset would be an asset and unique contribution.
